The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is 97% Muslim. Five times a day you will hear the call to prayer echo throughout the city streets, calling all followers of Islam to come and pray to Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
Before praying, it is obligatory to perform ablutions, known as "wudu" (arabic) or "wuzu" (as pronounced in Central Eurasia). Purity and cleanliness have great significance in Islam. Wudu is believed to be both physical and spiritual preparation before prayer, and provides 'purification' before communicating with God. Prayer cannot commence without it. In Islam,
"purification is half the faith."
Psalm (Zaboor) 51:7 says
"Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow."
The Holy Bible says in Romans 12:1
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship."
May we all take the time, daily, to purify our hearts and souls before the Living God, to present ourselves holy and acceptable to Him.
